🔹 When people say “you overthink,” what they usually mean is “you think more than I’m comfortable with.”
🔹 That’s not a you problem. That’s a them problem.
🔹 If thorough thinking helps you prepare, stay calm, and feel safe—it’s not “over.” It’s right-sized for you.
📌 For many ADHD/AuDHD leaders, thorough thinking isn’t anxiety—it’s regulation.
What neurotypicals label as “overthinking” is often:
🔸 Pattern mapping
🔸 Contingency-building
🔸 Future-proofing
🔸 Emotional grounding
🔸 Strategic play
🥋 My friends and I are dedicated martial artists and self-defense practitioners not because we fear attack, but because it’s fun!
📌 For us, strategic thinking is how we live examined, enriched lives.
💡We ask better questions.
💡We find unusual solutions.
💡We experience life more fully.
💡That’s not dysfunction. That’s depth.
🌱 Evolutionarily, it makes sense to have some community members who love strategically planning. If that’s you, you’re needed.
🧠 ADHD brains are wired for pattern recognition. Every time we connect the dots, we get a dopamine hit. That’s why strategic thinking isn’t just fun, it’s chemically rewarding.
🪴Also evolutionarily, it makes sense that not everyone in the group would be thorough thinkers, because nothing would get done. So neurotypicals are needed too.
It’s a balanced ecosystem:
Some of us forecast the storm.
Others build the shelter.
🧬It’s evolution, not error.
🧬Design, not defect.
📌 Trust your thinking style, and don’t apologize for your depth.
This results in:
🔹 Clearer decisions
🔹 Calmer leadership
🔹 Sharper strategies
🔹 More earned respect
🔹 Greater confidence in your path
💪 Ever been told you “think too much”? What did THEY miss?
