I like Ike

This week’s theme is ethical leadership during crisis.

When I was looking for quotes, I found so many from Eisenhower that I felt compelled to share them all.  Ike’s words aren’t just wise, they’re a blueprint for leading with character under pressure.

So, I’m stepping aside and letting the former president speak. Enjoy and get inspired!

🧭 Integrity & Influence
1. "The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible."

2. "Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it."

🛡️ Power & Leadership Style
3. "You do not lead by hitting people over the head — that's assault, not leadership."

4. "A sense of humor is part of the art of leadership, of getting along with people, of getting things done."

5. "May we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion."

➡️ Civic Responsibility
6. "Politics ought to be the part-time profession of every citizen who would protect the rights and privileges of free people."

7. "A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both."

8. "Only our individual faith in freedom can keep us free."

9. "There is nothing wrong with America that faith, love of freedom, intelligence, and energy of her citizens cannot cure."

🌍 Freedom, Peace & Global Perspective
10. "Down the long lane of the history yet to be written America knows that this world of ours, ever growing smaller, must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect."

11. "To remain secure and prosperous themselves, wealthy nations must extend the kind of cooperation to the less fortunate members that will inspire hope, confidence, and progress."

12. "Peace and justice are two sides of the same coin."

13. "We seek peace, knowing that peace is the climate of freedom."

I believe ADHD leaders have the empathy and creativity to solve the world’s biggest problems, and I want to support as many of them as possible as they step into leadership.
